When hosting a Super Bowl Party, you can either cook or order in. The problem with the cooking part is that you want to be sure not to miss any of the game.

So, here’s a simple and delicious recipe for a dish that can be made a day ahead of time.
Then just re-heated with little effort so it is ready for half time!

Servings: 4

Steak and Beer Stew

all purpose flour for dredging
3LBS boneless beef chuck, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 large onions, julienne
2 carrots, peeled, sliced ½ inch thick
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons steak sauce
2 teaspoons steak seasoning
16oz beer
4-6oz brown stock
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Directions: Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.

Toss beef cubes in flour, coating on all sides.

Heat olive oil in large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add onions, and carrots to Dutch oven and sauté for 4-5 minutes, until vegetables start to turn translucent and tender. Now add beef and garlic to Dutch oven. Occasionally stir pot to allow beef to sear on all sides. Add soy sauce, steak sauce, steak seasoning, and beer to pot. Add enough brown stock to cover all of the ingredients. Cover Dutch oven and place in the center of the pre-heated oven and allow the beef to braise for 60-70 minutes, until the beef is tender. Remove pot from oven and stir in honey and butter. Serve hot.

Yield: 6-8 servings
